What About Natural Hyperacusis Treatment?
Those who have hyperacusis usually have a diminished quality of life. They may avoid loud places. In fact, it may become so debilitating that they avoid leaving their homes at all.
Tinnitus Retraining Therapy has been put forward as a mostly natural hyperacusis treatment. This involves a specific regimen of counseling and daily exposure to low level broadband sound, usually through sound generators. It is said to work wonders. But, are there others?
For years, patients were patted on the head and told to be strong. Get used to it. Avoid sound or wear ear plugs. Doctors now recognize that any means of avoiding sound only exacerbates the problem. Most are encouraged to go in for TRT, but it is costly. It also takes a long time.
There are other natural hyperacusis treatments. Some practitioners advise people to take minerals like magnesium or zinc. They may also be advised to take B vitamins or Ginkgo biloba. Some even suggest using acupuncture, massage, or chiropractic services. Along with these there are other homeopathic remedies for hearing sensitivity.
There are many Chinese herbs available for the sufferer of tinnitus and hyperacusis. These herbs seem to have no side effects. They work on the premise that the body has the ability to heal and balance itself, and so restore itself to a state of good health. They come in many forms but as a natural hyperacusis treatment, capsules and pills would be best.
One of the herbs sounds familiar. This is the Radix Paeoniae Alba, or, White Peony Root. Its main active ingredient is paeoniflorin. There is another herb, called Fructus Corni, whose main ingredient is ursolic acid. These are just a couple of example of natural hyperacusis treatments which may help with hearing sensitivity.
Some of these herbs are categorized by which “Channel” they are distributed in. Rhizoma Acori Graminei, for example, is said to be distributed through the spleen and stomach channels. Magnetitum, on the other hand, is supposed to be spread through the liver, heart, and kidney channels. These may help as a natural hyperacusis treatment.
Other Chinese herbs used as natural hyperacusis treatments are: Radix Remanniae Paeparata, Radix Puerariae, Caulis Clematids Armandii, Cortex Moutan Radicis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanziong. They may all be good for hearing sensitivity.
While the jury is still out on most of these natural hyperacusis treatments, many may be inclined to try them. Perhaps they don’t feel they have the time to devote to more lengthy treatments. Maybe they are afraid of some of the doctor-assisted methods. It could just be possible that they just can afford to other type of treatment. No matter what the reason is, many want to try these types of natural hyperacusis treatments. |
